Revering local, ethical artisans, our considerate selection of fair-trade coffee, teas, brews and free range produce reflects our desire to serve you the best of the region. Sumptuous fare in decadent surrounds, Skylark cuisine is born of our love for honest, nourishing meals with memorable flavour. Our cafe is open 6 days a week from 10am to 4pm. After dusk, the ‘Lark invites you to savour an intimate listening and dining experience.

The Skylark Room was lovingly dreamed into being by a small team of passionate locals. They saw an opportunity to create something different in the Hills musical and gastronomical landscape. With the reins now firmly held by musician Kathleen Snowball, aka Snowy, our hidden gem of the Hills is nurtured by a close family of connoisseurs, each serving at the peak of their craft. Sitting on a veranda in the forest one balmy evening musing on the venue in the making, Snowy crooned a rousing rendition of the Jazz standard ‘Skylark’ and there the namesake was realised.

Your patronage supports a beautiful family to continue nurturing each element of The Skylark Room. "As a musician, it is a pleasure to offer other musicians the opportunity to play a gig of their own music in a supportive environment" - Kathleen Snowball.

Individuals from all walks relish the holistic experience of a café and bar reminiscent of a speakeasy from days of yore, a world dripping with simple sophistication. Our venue is easily accessible to elders and people with a disability. To sweeten your sojourn, oodles of free parking awaits your buggy, horseless carriage or trike.

As a number of our team are members of the LGBTQIA community, we are proud to be an inclusive space. All people are safe to be, and express their mild or wild selves here. The Skylark Room wishes to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations, traditional owners and custodians of the Country where we reside. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.
