$15 presale, $20 at the door
Gradual takes the melodies of Crowded House, the intensity of Midnight Oil, the pub rock conviction of Matt Finish and the harmonies The Beatles, and then distills these influences into its own unique sound. Members of the band are David Carr on guitar, Carolyn Oates on Drums, Darren Trott on bass guitar and Brian Baker on vocals and guitar.
The band’s debut 'For Love' EP was released in 2015, receiving widespread airplay across the country. In 2017 the band filmed and released three videos, shot in Belgrave's main street, then screened at an exclusive cinema event at the Cameo Cinema in support of Beyondblue.
The band’s latest double A-sided single is receiving plenty of attention, both locally and overseas, with the songs “Open Up Your Heart” and “We Fall Slowly” (both penned by lead singer/guitarist Brian Baker) providing proof that great original Australian rock music is alive and well.
The video of “Open Up Your Heart” was released onto Facebook and received over 13,000 views in 2 weeks. That number continues to grow.
“We Fall Slowly” has been licensed for inclusion in the soundtrack to the US crime movie ‘Family Values: The Rise and Fall of Anthony Morelli’, scheduled for worldwide release.
Gradual has performed at a number of gigs and festivals and has opened for Mental As Anything, Shannon Noll and Taxiride. They sold out their single launch in Upwey and are booked to perform at this years Vetrok alongside Jo Camelleri, Matt Taylor and Spectrum.
