Hannah is a singer songwriter who has been carving her own niche in what can best be described as acoustic indie/folk with a dash of atmosphere and underlying hints of jazz and blues.
Her melodies, beautifully blended harmonies and intelligent, insightful and powerful lyrics belies her 17 years of age. She has found a unique way of expressing her own experiences in dealing with everyday teenage issues, whilst appealing to all ages musically.
Over the last 4 years Hannah has been performing at festivals such as Maldon Folk Festival, Newstead Live, Bendigo Blues & Roots Festival & the National Celtic Festival to name a few. Recently Hannah has played supports for Celtic Rockers, Claymore and Australia Idol winner, Damien Leith. She has also appeared and performed live on a number of community and mainstream radio stations including ABC774 with Clare Bowditch & 3AW with Billy Pinnell.
Hannah's brand new LP "Someone Else" is being launched at the Skylark Room. Her 1st LP "Shadow" released at age 14, showed maturity beyond her years in both her musicality and topical depth. Fast forward 3 years and you will be treated to an album which has evolved and grown with her now 17 years. Still following her teenage angst and experience of growing up, she has experimented with different musical styles, broadening her expression with some jazz/blue undertones and even introducing some political digs!
"Listen to me pour my heart out and pretend I’m older than I actually am!"
"Listen to me rip into Donald trump like he’s nothing but an onion peel."
Joining her on stage during the night will be a variety of musician, from Hannah's regular collaborator Sadie Mustoe aka "Girl on the Hill" on vocal harmonies to sister Cadhla Schmidli on additional guitars, her cousin, Patrick Schmidli (The Jack Earle Trio) on double bass, Rob Vague on keys, John Schmidli on kit, Anthony Mead on Electric Bass.
