Mic Conway, ARIA award winning, Sydney-based singer, musician, song writer, fire eater, magician, tap dancer, juggler, comedian and multi-instrumentalist from Captain Matchbox and Circus Oz is celebrating 50 years in entertainment with a whirlwind tour in May 2018.

Conway’s Music, Magic and comedy show  features hilarious and quirky tunes that make jaws drop, toes tap and sides split including some Captain Matchbox favourites like “My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes” as well as a swag of Conway including "Jug Band Man" (which was featured on Spicks and Specks, September 2011).  “Perfectly pitched… In one tune he was able to pack in a lifetime of Cabaret.” : Roy & H.G., ABC TV. 

There's juggling, illusion, cavorting and Conway's trademark tongue-in-cheek humour ...  This is Mic the crooner – inspired by Al Bowlly, The Ink Spots, Fats Waller and the Hoosier Hotshots.  Some classic tin pan melodies, some bizarre originals.  The show is surreal vaudeville with a sense of humour.  Croon to melt your ears. 

 Mic will be joined on stage by10 String Guitarist, Celtic Steel String, Resonator Guitar  and Tenor Ukulele player Matthew Fagan and other guests from his 50 years of  collaborations.

Born into a family of vaudevillians and opera singers, Conway's life as an entertainer began in the 1970s as lead singer in Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band which became a cult phenomenon, recording seven records, two of which achieved gold status. The band has recently appeared on Classic Countdown re-runs. Wearing several hats, Conway he is now the leader of the 5-piece jug and blues act Mic Conway’s National Junk Band and is a long-term children’s entertainer, touring his extraordinary one man shows to over 200 schools and community events across Australia each year.

A favourite at folk and blues festivals, in 2011 Conway was awarded “Artist of the Year” by Port Fairy Folk Festival.   His duo show with Matthew Fagan is not to be missed!
